A Taste of Africa Event Series is brought to you by the organizers of the African Restaurant Week as part of Black History Month celebration. It presents an opportunity to support various local businesses and vendors across food, fashion, beauty, wellness design, arts, crafts and MORE. Enjoy reduced prices at various participating businesses and events

Scheduled events include;
Saturday, 2/22 African Pop-Up Festival from 12pm – 7pm at Mist Harlem 46 W. 116th St. – Celebrate Black History in a festive environment as you shop, eat, mingle and dance discover your favorite African/diaspora cuisine, Afrobeats DJ and performances.
- Makers, entrepreneurs, vendors across food, self care, fashion, crafts, jewelry, accessories and more
- Over 12 food stations from various parts of the Diaspora
- Chef cooking competition – “Best Rice Dish” duel by chefs
- Live cultural performances – dance and music
- Panel on entrepreneurship with community business leaders
- DJ sets with music from across the globe with heavy dose of Afrobeats
Join New York residents, foodies, culture enthusiasts, world travelers as they come out and experience support entrepreneurs from all over the Diaspora in a festive environment.
Sunday 2/16 – “Ethiopian Brunch” at Queen of Sheba. 11.30am – 4pm
- Enjoy Ethiopian brunch dishes – KINCHE, FUL, CHECHEBSA, Ethiopian style scrambled eggs, Yestom Fit Fit and more – with option of unlimited samosa and sangria
$35 for one person with unlimited sangria and samosa for 2 hours (11.30 – 2pm)
$26 for two people with complimentary samosa or sangria
$16 for one person with complimentary glass of samosa or sangria
Tuesday – 2/18 Taste of Africa Wine and Food Tasting Event from 6pm – 8pm – at various local wine stores (list to be announced shortly). A food and wine event, featuring tastes of the different parts of Africa.
Wednesday – 2/19 Odyssey Across the Diaspora at the Beard House – Five Course meal with chefs from across the Diaspora. Each dish paired with wines from Africa – tickets going on sale soon

This Winter, in New York City (NYC), Taste of Africa USA the organizers of the African Restaurant Week are producing a week of events to celebrate Black History Month “A Taste of Africa Event Series”. In its second year the week long event will last from February 16 – 23 will be a week of food, fashion, music at restaurants and event sites all over the City.
“A Taste of Africa Event Series” presents an opportunity to support various local businesses and vendors across food, fashion, beauty, wellness design, arts, crafts and MORE. Enjoy reduced prices at various participating businesses and events.
Some of the participating restaurants include Queen of Sheba, Accra Restaurant, Lenox Saphire, La Savane Harlem, Le Baobab (Brooklyn), Ponty Bistro and Reniaissance to name a few .
